India celebrates the culture celebrates diversities so as it celebrates diverse festivals with unity and enthusiasm. Indian culture is full of vibrant festivals.
Almost every festival has mythological, religious, or inspiring events or legends behind the festivals.
DIWALI – Festivals of light to enlighten
Diwali, also known as the festivals of lights that enlightens and fills joy among people Mythological story behind Diwali is the return from the exile of Lord Rama.
HOLI- Festival of Colour and Defeat of Evil
Holi is a festival of victory of good over evil. People celebrate by applying vibrant colors on each other.
BAISAKHI – Festival of Crops
Baisakhi is a festival which is associated with the harvesting of crops in Punjab
Eid Al Fitr – Festival of fasting and togetherness
Eid is a celebration of the end of Ramadan. After fasting for a month, all Muslims gather together to offer prayer and visit and greet them.
RAKSHA BANDHAN – Festival of Bond & Promise
Raksha Bandhan is a traditional festival in which siblings tie the knot of Protection. Colorful and decorative threads are used as a band of protection.
ONAM – Festival for farmers
Onam is a harvest festival in Kerala. It is full of joy and tradition includes Kathakali Dance, traditional food, Boat Race.
Navratri – Festival of Victory over Demon
During the festival, the goddess Durga is placed and pandals are decorated. People worship and fast for nine days as well Garba is performed to celebrate.
Apart from this, many other festivals are celebrated. People irrespective of their religion and region all celebrate the festival together with joy and happiness.
