Luxembourg is a country located in Western Europe. It is one of the smallest countries in the list of sovereign states in Europe both in the terms of the geographical area being around 2,586 square kilometers (998 sq mi), and the population of the country with 626,108 people, but it is important to note that it has the highest growth rate of population. The official languages are Luxembourgish, French, and German.

THE POPULATION

A country with such a low population surprisingly portrays a diversity of the population based on nationality. The various figures show the variation between the dominating religion and the others.

  • 50.9% Luxembourgers

  • 18.2% Portuguese

  • 13.5% French

  • 10.3% Germans

  • 7.1% Other

  • Clearly, it can be concluded, that more than half of the population belongs to the people possessing the nationality of Luxembourgers while on the other hands' Germans have just a comparatively smallest figure of 10.3%.

CULTURE

A country holding citizens with different nationalities tends to have an ineffable culture to highlight. Moreover, it is a country that shares a border with Belgium on the west and north, Frace being its neighbor from the south border and lastly Germany on the northeast and east.

TO SPORTS 

Mostly each country in Europe has its own National sport but if one talks about Luxembourg, it does not have anyone particular sport titled as an honored sports game. People play all types of sport being it under the classification of outdoor and indoor sports. The d'Coque, an indoor arena in the largest sports venue in the county and an Olympic swimming pool in Kirchberg. 

TO CUISINE 

  • Being a country sharing borders with the Latins and the Germanic, a noticeable influence can be seen in their cuisines. In fact, the native dishes which are consumed by the citizens daily are very much similar to those consumed by the people of Germany.

  • It enjoys the position of being a dominant seller of alcohol in Europe with the highest per capita sales. However, the real contribution is made by the purchase of alcohol by the neighboring countries.

CARS ARE THE BARS

  • The county with a small population can absolutely do wonders and leave an imprint on the others. Luxembourg is the country with the highest rate of car ownership in the world. 

  • As per the reports, it is said that around 649 cars are owned by just a mere figure of 1,000 people.  The company to be seen as a favorite choice of people is Volkswagen. 

TO THE ADVENTURE 

Luxembourg or the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is a country that is indeed to be on the list of every wanderlust or an adventurer in a simpler word. It has its beauty hidden in its historical monuments, museums, forts, palaces and this list goes on

  • The Old Quarter of Luxembourg City- is one of the Cities ancient fortifications which were also designated under the list of World Heritage sites, in 1994.

  • National Museum of History and Art

  • Grand Ducal Palace

  •  Place Guillaume II,

  • Walferdange and its Castle
