Sitting on a chair placed on my terrace and staring at the dark and yet shiny sky; which seems to be covered with the blanket of twinkling stars and the luminous moon was a great feeling indeed. I saw a shooting star, I know it's too filmy but yes, I do believe in the fact that the shooting stars have the power to fulfill your wish, and immediately prayed. After that, I added the same to my bucket list.

BUCKET LIST - A DREAM

Going through the bucket list I realized how deeply I adore the mountains and hill stations.

Haven't you planned a trip with your friends to Leh Ladakh, Kashmir, Manali, and this is a never-ending list? It is all about experiencing all those views from the peak of the mountains. Well, Kashmir is at the top of the bucket list.

LET'S DIG IN...

Whenever you plan a trip it is important to know about the culture of that place. The culture includes clothes, food, language, rituals, and much more.

LANGUAGE IS THE PILLAR-

Language or the mother tongue of the state not only portrays the deep insight into its religion, culture but also acts as an identity for its people.

In Kashmir, 90%of the people have 'Kashmiri' as their mother tongue.  Kashmiri is a Dardic language that belongs to the subgroup of Indo- Aryan family of the Indo- European language tree.

Kashur was the traditional language which with time evolved and developed to the Kashmiri language.

THE GOLD MINE KEEPER

A language is no less than a gold mine to be kept safe and preserved. The Kashmiri language is spoken by not natives of Kashmir but also a native of Pakistan, mainly those who reside in the territory of Azad Kashmir. These people use Urdu or English as their second language.

HISTORY IS IMPORTANT-

Kashmiri is the only Dardic language with literature, which has its roots almost 750 years back. It is the oldest spoken language in India due to the same, the government has realized its role and as an action to the same has recognized it as an official language under Schedule - VIII.

KASHMIRI LITERATURE -

The first person to write and publish a piece of writing in the Kashmiri language was by RājānakaShitiKantha in his book Mahānaya-Prakāsha. This dated back to century 12. The art of writing was further followed by a poet LalDed who wrote four liners poems in the 1500s.

Centuries after centuries, the number of poets, writers, and singers increased as the people had the aim of making their language evergreen and leaving an impact on future generations. They wanted to preserve and appreciate the beauty of their language.

THE MODERN CONTRIBUTORS-

Listening to Sufi music is no less than a therapy that soothes you. Mainly the lyrics are written in Urdu or Kashmiri language.

Thus, the Sufi singers had played a vital role in enhancing the beauty of language. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, pandit Bhojan Sopori, Nirja Pandit are some singers who ineffably left the therapeutic effect on the listeners by lauding the beauty of Kashmir, its language, and culture in a remarkable way.

CONCLUSION

Learning should never stop; I would suggest you all learn new languages. It really helps those who are wanderlust by hearts and wants no part in this world to be left unseen by them. Be linguistic. Be learner. Be an adventurer.
