Importance of extracurricular activities in Schools

 Extracurricular activities – Not important but a necessity.

Extracurricular activities are meant by outside textbooks and classroom activities. In school, Education must not only be about teaching textbooks but it must be focused on multiple developments here multiple development word is used because it is not necessary that child have interest in all activities that are conducted by school child must be free to choose and grow in interests area apart from the textual knowledge.

       Multiple activities for Multiple Intelligence and Development





 CLUB ACTIVITIES 

Club activities must be implemented. Not only it involves the particular field knowledge but also enhances leadership, social skill, teams work spirit among pupils.

Example: literacy club, Poetry club, Eco club

Art 

 Art activities help us to unleash creativity and enhance the ability to express yourself. Music, Dance, Cartooning,  Drawing, Sketching,  Sewing, Cooking are some artwork that may not only enhance creativity but may also be used as a career or profession in near future.

 Communication skill 

We have to interact globally so we required better communication skills. The school must plan activities to teach a foreign language as well as activities for improving communication skills such as Debate, Essay writing, Reports, Article in the school magazine.

 Community Service and activities

  children may be involved in community activities to know more and explore about community.  The school must celebrate community festivals and children must get involved in community services.SEWA is one of the techniques used by CBSE  to enhance the community.  Charity, Donation, Exchange of Books, helping peers, and community help.

Technology

  Technology is becoming a part of our life. Children must be involved in activities that teach them about technical knowledge. Computer knowledge, Blogging, Photography, Web Designing, Safe Internet surfing, Internet banking, Presentation, Email writing must be involved in extracurricular activities

SPORTS AND YOGA

Indoor games ( Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis )and Outdoor Games (Volleyball, Cricket, Basketball ) Yoga, PT must be involved in the extracurricular plan so students may choose depending on their interest to grow mentally and physically

TRADE AND BANKING

The school must conduct a Trade fair in school,  so students may learn about trading, pricing, marketing practically .Bank tour, Dummy Bank and Trade Fair may enhance their learning through Experience.

Different Skill, Talent, Aptitude can be developed among students with an appropriate plan for extracurricular activities.  Children, Teachers, Parent, School management must come together and understand the necessity of it. It may help students to think outside the box and be creative and expressive.
