W.H.O. defines health as a state of complete physical, mental, and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. So if you think taking care of health only involves taking care of your body then you are wrong, mental health is just as important.

What is mental health?





Mental health is a term that has sparked great attention in the past few months. 2020 is been a year of unexpected events that have made people realize the value of emotional stability and peace. Mental health involves our emotions and feelings pertaining to any range of situations in our daily lives. Our mental health affects our thoughts, feelings, and actions. It is the most important aspect of our lives. If our mental health is affected it can in turn affect our whole life.  Depression, anxiety, panic attack, unstable heartbeat, and ultimately heart attack all are consequences of poor mental health.

Factors contributing to mental health problems:

A simple event can scar a mind for a lifetime. Many factors are contributing to mental health problems some of which are prominent and some are unnoticeable. Here are a few- 

  1. Life experiences; such as trauma or abuse

  2. Biological factors;  such as genes

  3. Surroundings; negativity and condescension

So how to tell if someone is experiencing mental health problems

Warning signs:

  1. Indecisiveness

  2. Having low energy

  3. Avoiding people

  4. Losing appetite

  5. Anger issues

And many more.


So try to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Mental health is important. You don’t have to feel happy all the time. You are human. So just be KIND to you MIND.
