Honesty

 Honesty

Honesty, do we really need to acknowledge this trait cannot be inherited? So there are some forces of compulsion which compel us to be dishonest but first of all how to define honestly by being truthful is enough but before that being real with yourself, knowing your true nature, who you are matters. History can guide us on how being honest is a creditable value to show. Our most deeds were void of this thing which we feel inside yet the insecurity and those deeds which include honesty still gives us positive energy and courage to face life. In all our lives there is a game of choosing short term over the long term but many fail miserably and cannot make our mind to go for the latter, What stops us is a loose control on our self. In our daily life, we confront situations that require being honest with ourselves, and the moment we surmount them, we gain over the desire. I still recall the incident of my 9th standard. Our civics is the most laborious subject to complete homework and classwork one day. Somehow I got the notebook of a student with complete work and voilà, the next day is submission day. I just changed the name slip with mine and submitted the notebook. She asked students if anyone had seen it but I was dead silent and feeling light on the burden of making a new notebook as I was enjoying my short-term happiness but guess what it didn't last long. Our teachers, aware of her bright students' writing, understood the whole situation and the next day all classes were aware of my act but that girl didn't say much to me but her eyes well and Days from then were my punishment. The point I want to make is I was consumed with short-term benefits and never apologized to her but deep within I hurt myself. I accepted my mistake and most of all I am honest with that incident in sharing with others. It's the value that is worth trying every time.
