Shanghai World Financial Centre is a building which is located at 100 Century Avenue, Lujiazui. The number '100' is just to highlight the floor count. The directions to it can be found on Jin Mao Tower, which is located at 88 Century Avenue. SWFC is located at a very close distance to Jin Mao Tower and the newly built Shanghai Tower

  • The above-mentioned three iconic super-tall skyscrapers were designed with the idea of all of these being adjacent to each other. The Oriental Pearl Tower can also be used as another landmark as it only a few hundred meters away.

MASTER PLAN

In 1993, Shanghai authority planned to construct 3 adjacent super tall.  Skyscrapers in Lujiazui district are for the purpose of it being the glory and as well as a landmark of the city.

Their skyscrapers were supposed to be built one by one, in ascending order from the shortest to the tallest. Construction of the first and shortest building started in 1994. The responsibility of the construction of the second building (Shanghai tower) was taken by a Japanese building tycoon named Minoru Mori.

  • Shanghai World Financial Centre was a master design by an architect of New York named Kohn Pedersen Fox. The trapezium aperture design on the top portion was the most magnificent feature of the building. The trapezium aperture helped to lessen the impact of wind pressures. This feature made people prefer the buildings built as bottle openers.

  •  Though this kind of design can be seen in cities, such as Duke Energy Centre in Charlotte, Kingdom Centre in Riyadh, which made the design ineligible to be recognized as unique.

WHAT’S  MYSTERIOUS
